Softball Recap: Zephyrhills Christian Academy Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wiregrass Ranch, Zephyrhills Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Grace Christian Patriots by a score of 8-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2022.

Aubri Falls was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those doubles were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Erin Fennell and Katelynn Blethen did most of the damage at the plate: Fennell scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Blethen scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Shelby Stevanus also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Zephyrhills Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Zephyrhills Christian Academy's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Grace Christian, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zephyrhills Christian Academy will venture away from home to take on Northside Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grace Christian, they will head out to challenge Zephyrhills Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
