Baseball Recap: Henryetta Wins Going Away Against Millwood

Henryetta won the last time they faced Millwood and things went their way on Friday too. The Knights were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Falcons. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Landen Jones was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Mavrix Randleman was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Henryetta: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6-1 otherwise. Blaze Hill was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Henryetta and bumps their season record up to 9-6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Millwood, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Henryetta will take on Bethel at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Millwood, they will challenge Okmulgee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
