The Lake Worth Bullfrogs won the last time they faced the Western Hills Cougars, and things went their way on Thursday too. Lake Worth breezed by Western Hills on the road to the tune of 49-21. With Lake Worth ahead 29-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Damion Hopkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 111 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, while also picking up 51 receiving yards. Hopkins was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cornell Avington, who gained 127 total yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Western Hills still got an impressive performance from Kyu Wilson, who threw for 114 yards and three touchdowns.
The victory makes it two in a row for Lake Worth and bumps their season record up to 6-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35 points. As for Western Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Lake Worth will be playing at home against Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Dunbar is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Western Hills, they will head out on the road to face off against Kennedale at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Kennedale is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
