The Nickerson Panthers suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 87-36 defeat at the hands of Sunrise Christian Academy Silver. Nickerson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.
Nickerson's loss came despite strong showings from Alex King and Riley Brawner. King scored 14 points, while Brawner scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Nickerson's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Sunrise Christian Academy Silver, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nickerson and Kingman will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sunrise Christian Academy Silver on the road again on Friday and play against St. Mary's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
