The Pickens Dragons were the 20-13 winner over the Wesleyan Wolves when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Pickens ended up on the wrong side of a tough 42-20 walloping at the hands of Wesleyan on Friday. Pickens was down 42-13 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Pickens' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Streicher, who threw for 284 yards and three touchdowns. Mccord Purdy also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Leading Wesleyan to victory were Jamie Tremble and Ben Brown. Tremble picked up 168 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Brown threw for 289 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes.
Pickens' defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Wesleyan, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3.
Pickens does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wesleyan will be playing at home against Ringgold at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ringgold will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
