Basketball Game Preview: James Logan Colts vs. Washington Huskies

James Logan has gone 10-0 against Washington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The James Logan Colts will face off against the Washington Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

James Logan is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Mission San Jose just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The game was a 20-20 toss-up at halftime, but the Colts couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, James Logan saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tyliyah Miller dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 boards. Miller is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Iwalani Lealao, who posted 12 points.

Even though they lost, James Logan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mission San Jose only pulled down 11 offensive boards.

Meanwhile, Washington entered their matchup against Dougherty Valley on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Washington fell 40-29 to Dougherty Valley. The contest marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

James Logan's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Washington, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-5.

James Logan beat Washington 54-44 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for James Logan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
