Mathis is 8-2 against Aransas Pass since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Mathis will head out to face off against Aransas Pass at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Mathis made easy work of Odem and carried off a 16-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won four in a row.

Marivel Martinez was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charleen Hernandez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 5-for-6.
Martinez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Mathis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 29 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aransas Pass). Everything went their way against George West on Friday as Aransas Pass made off with a 15-1 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
The team relied heavily on Alyze Garza, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, two triples, and one stolen base. Ezebella Davila was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.
Mathis' victory bumped their record up to 8-6-1. As for Aransas Pass, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9-1.
Aransas Pass' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mathis hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .446. It's a different story for Aransas Pass, though, as they've only averaged .182. Will they be able to contain Mathis' hitters?
Mathis was able to grind out a solid victory over Aransas Pass in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 4-1. Will Mathis repeat their success, or does Aransas Pass has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
