The King's Academy Lions typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Florence Christian Eagles proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 41-35 W over the Lions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Florence Christian also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Florence Christian was led to victory by Anna kate Huggins and Emerson Poston. Huggins scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Poston scored ten points along with eight steals and six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Huggins scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise Hicks, who scored four points along with two steals.
Florence Christian's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10. As for King's Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.
Florence Christian will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pee Dee Academy and the Eagles are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. King's Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
