Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coronado). Everything went their way against the Pecos Eagles on Friday as the Coronado Mustangs made off with a 15-7 win. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Zac Long looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Caden Langill was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Ethan Montalvo was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

Coronado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .614. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Coronado pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Pecos, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Coronado will challenge Chapin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pecos, they will be taking part in a tournament against Liberty at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Liberty has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
