Basketball Recap: Lakin Skates Past Norton with Ease

Lakin won the last time they faced Norton and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lakin Broncs claimed a resounding 71-30 win over the Norton Bluejays. The Broncs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 23 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Norton still got an impressive performance from Tyce Melvin, who posted ten points. That's the most points Melvin has posted since back in December of 2023.

Lakin's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Norton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Lakin and Sublette will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Sublette likes a good challenge. As for Norton, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Norton Bluejays challenge the Southern Valley Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
