After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Haddonfield, The Woodstown Wolverines were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 21-6 win over Penns Grove. That's another feather in the cap for Woodstown, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Bryce Belinfanti was his usual excellent self, rushing for 141 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Belinfanti is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Woodstown's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Zachary Bevis and his two sacks.
Woodstown's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Penns Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5.
Woodstown will take on Dunellen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunellen will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Woodstown is ranked 95th). As for Penns Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Florence Township Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Florence Township Memorial is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
