The Ribault Trojans will head out on the road to take on the First Coast Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Ribault scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 88-44 win over Ridgeview. With Ribault ahead 55-30 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ribault to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Williams, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten assists. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Kaleb McDuffie, who scored 22 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, First Coast stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 68-37 win over Yulee on the road. Given First Coast's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Yulee is ranked 520th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ribault pushed their record up to 12-5 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points per game. As for First Coast, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Ribault was able to grind out a solid win over First Coast when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 54-46. Will Ribault repeat their success, or does First Coast have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
