The Exeter Monarchs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight defeat. They took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hanford West. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Exeter in their matchups with Hanford West: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Monarchs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blaine Mcfall, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Mcfall has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Aden Plyman was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Exeter struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Exeter has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for Hanford West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-16 record this season.
Exeter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-46 loss vs. Reedley on the 8th. Hanford West has also already played their next match, a 79-60 loss against Sierra Pacific on the 8th.
