The Sunnyside Wildcats lost against the Dinuba Emperors back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Sunnyside took a 58-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dinuba. While losing is never fun, Sunnyside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while Dinuba is ranked 180th).
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tanner Wilson, who scored 14 points. Wilson scored a full 25.9% of Sunnyside's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Cj Jones was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Sunnyside's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Dinuba, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Sunnyside is on the road again on Saturday and play against Redwood at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th. Dinuba and Selma will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Selma has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 465 points over their last seven matches.
