Metamora (Ill.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring 19 in the fourth quarter to seal a 53-21 victory over East Peoria (Ill.).
The Redbirds were up 27-14 at the half after taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter.
Metamora expanded its lead to 20 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored once in the quarter on a
Lucas Lahood touchdown run.
Brendan Nachtrieb and
Ryan Patterson ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Raiders. Nachtrieb scored two touchdowns on the ground and Patterson added two as well.
A 49-7 Metamora victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss was the third in a row for East Peoria.
Metamora (2-2) will play a Mid-Illini game against Dunlap next week, while East Peoria (1-3) will take on Canton also in a Mid-Illini game.
