The McDonald County Mustangs will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Cassville Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Cassville took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on McDonald County, who comes in off a win.
McDonald County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Monett 66-45. McDonald County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.
McDonald County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamie Washam led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Washam has scored all season. Roslynn Huston was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Cassville won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They suffered a tough 54-32 defeat at the hands of Nevada. While losing is never fun, Cassville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Tigers are ranked 119th).
McDonald County is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Cassville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
