The Upsala Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Staples-Motley with a sharp 63-43 victory on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for Upsala who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Dakota Soltis, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailie Luedtke, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Upsala pushed their record up to 5-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.67 points. As for Staples-Motley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Upsala won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Browerville at 7:15 p.m. on January 5th. Browerville is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Staples-Motley, they will head out on the road to face off against Verndale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
