It was a good run, but the Westhope/Newburg Sioux unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. Their tough 48-28 loss to Berthold might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Westhope/Newburg has suffered since December 21, 2023.
Several Sioux players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kimberly Tabarez, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Tabarez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laken Lee, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Westhope/Newburg's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Berthold, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Westhope/Newburg won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood at 5:45 p.m. on January 23rd. Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Berthold does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
