North Olmsted is 0-4 against Buckeye since April of 2024 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Bucks at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, North Olmsted put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They blew past Lakewood 16-6. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Julianna Demain made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Demain was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, North Olmsted let Layla Salameh and Jocelyn Suckart run wild. Salameh went a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, two stolen bases, and one double, while Suckart went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Suckart a new career-high. Delaney Steimle also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
North Olmsted kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.6.
Meanwhile, Buckeye waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Bucks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Buckeye also got a great performance from Olivia Piovarchy as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Ava Piovarchy was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Juliana Melillo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Buckeye's record is now 14-5. As for North Olmsted, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 3-10.
North Olmsted might still be hurting after the 21-2 loss they got from Buckeye in their previous matchup on April 13th. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
