The Braden River Pirates were the 40-29 winner over the Manatee Hurricanes when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Braden River took a 30-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Manatee. Braden River has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Braden River saw an underclassman step up: Kelis Mcgrady dropped a double-double on 10 points and 17 rebounds. Mcgrady is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Emily Dalton was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 12 rebounds.
Braden River now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Manatee, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Braden River will challenge Winthrop College Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Manatee, they will head out on the road to face off against Bayshore at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
