Filer is 0-10 against Kimberly since March of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will square off against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Filer will be strutting in after a victory while Kimberly will be coming in after a defeat.
Filer will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Gooding on Wednesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Senators with a sharp 13-3 win. With that victory, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Bridger Phillips and Carsten Eskelsen were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Phillips struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Eskelsen pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Filer is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-13 otherwise. At bat, Phillips went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Eskelsen went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs Eskelsen has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Cowger, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Westley Billington also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Buhl hit Kimberly with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs fell 9-5 to the Indians. Surprisingly, this marked the Bulldogs' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Kimberly saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cash Gardner, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Filer pushed their record up to 10-14 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Kimberly, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8.
Filer might still be hurting after the 21-11 defeat they got from Kimberly in their previous meeting last Monday. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
