After four games on the road, Frederick is heading back home. They will take on The Mead Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Denver North scored an imposing 36 points last Thursday, Frederick still came out on top. Frederick snuck past Denver North with a 41-36 win. Frederick pushed the score to 35-15 by the end of the third, a deficit Denver North cut but never quite recovered from.
Frederick's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Burke Eismann, who picked up 145 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Gavin Ishmael, who threw for 339 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Eismann was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 60 yards. Sonny Delpizzo was another key contributor, gaining 64 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Mead entered their tilt with Niwot with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Mead came out on top against Niwot by a score of 14-3 last Thursday.
Frederick has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Mead, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-4.
Frederick won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in October of 2022, slipping by Mead 35-34. Will Frederick repeat their success, or does Mead have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
