The Greenville Red Raiders and the Westside Rams squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Greenville Red Raiders had to settle for second. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. Greenville's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Westside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cutter Woods, who threw for 334 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Joshua Williams did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 151 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Greenville's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Westside, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Greenville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westside will head out on the road to face off against South Florence at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Florence's defense has only allowed 11.5 points per game this season, so Westside's offense will have their work cut out for Westside.
