MONROVIA, Calif. -
Monrovia (Calif.) extended its winning streak to six games with a 35-14 victory over
Temple City (Calif.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Ge Vontray Ainsworth in the first quarter, the Wildcats led 21-0 at the half.
Monrovia expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS's lone score in the quarter came on a Ainsworth touchdown run.
The Wildcats' most effective player was Ainsworth. The senior ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.
Chris Reed made a difference for the Rams. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
Monrovia came into the game allowing 14.7 points per game. The 14 points that Temple City ended with were right around its average of 13.9 coming into the game.
A 45-0 Monrovia victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Temple City defeated La Canada 44-26 last week.
