The Walton-Verona Bearcats will square off against the Scott Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Walton-Verona will be strutting in after a win while Scott will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Walton-Verona turned things around against Lloyd Memorial on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Juggernauts. The Bearcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Evan Bishop
Walton-Verona got a great performance from Evan Bishop as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Bishop also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Bearcats are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-3 otherwise.
At the plate, Logan Bach was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Miles Lemkuhl, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Walton-Verona kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Scott's offense. They came up short against Beechwood on Saturday, falling 7-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Walton-Verona's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Scott, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Walton-Verona beat Scott 4-0 in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Do the Bearcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
