It was fun while it lasted, but Duchesne's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Tuesday. They fell to the Orchard Farm Eagles 43-37. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pioneers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Eagles are ranked 305th).

Duchesne's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1. As for Orchard Farm, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Duchesne has already played their next contest, a 55-39 victory against Viburnum on the 18th. As for Orchard Farm, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Point at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
