Carmel extended the longest winning streak in Metropolitan this week by beating North Vigo, 28-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
North Central suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after falling to Center Grove. The Panthers had been ranked 25th, but fell to 28 following the defeat.
South Vigo's Danny Etling and Tyler Seibert have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Etling has thrown for 1126 yards this season, while Seibert has 28 catches for 556 yards. Warren Central's Anthony Cooper-Taylor leads the league in rushing yards with 457.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Carmel and Ben Davis. Kevin Wright's team comes into the matchup ranked first in the state, while the Giants ranks fourth.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when the Greyhounds and Ben Davis meet this week. Carmel features well-regarded junior Austin Roberts while Mike Kirschner's team has Antonio Allen, a sought after defensive back.
Lawrence North made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,729 from 4,964. The improvement came about via a 75-0 victory over the Wildcats last week.
