For the first time this season, St. Michael will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to challenge the Robertson Cardinals at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. St. Michael's knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Robertson likes a good challenge.
St. Michael's had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 21-run drubbing they dealt Estancia on Thursday. The Horsemen's pitchers stepped up to hand the Bears a 21-0 shutout. The Horsemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Santiago Martinez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, eight RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Brayden Hollis also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
St. Michael's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Robertson fell victim to Capital and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Jaguars, falling 10-0.
Robertson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Bonney, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
St. Michael's is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Robertson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4-1.
Robertson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Michael's has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Robertson, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given St. Michael's sizable advantage in that area, the Cardinals will need to find a way to close that gap.
St. Michael's took their win against Robertson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Do the Horsemen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
