Baseball Recap: Pittsfield's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Pittsfield dropped their record down to 10-2 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 7-1 to the Belchertown Orioles. The game marked the Generals' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

As for Belchertown, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

For Belchertown's part, Josh Misiaszek made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Misiaszek was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Belchertown let Canyon Charron and Thatcher Rudnik run wild. Charron went 2-for-4 with four RBI, while Rudnik earned two runs and three stolen bases. Rudnik is becoming a predictor of Belchertown's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pittsfield will face off against West Springfield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Belchertown, they will challenge Chicopee Comp at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
