The biggest upset of the week belonged to Notre Dame, who took down 55th ranked Notre Dame, 20-13.
St. Viator's Brian Peters recorded the longest rushing play in East Suburban Catholic this season in his game against St. Patrick last week. Peters' team fell to the Shamrocks as he sprinted for 73 yards on the play and finished with 110 in all.
St. Viator's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bob Calmeyn threw for 198 and three touchdowns and Joe Faerber had 52 yards receiving. Ben Dickey helped St. Viator's passing attack out by catching four balls for 47 yards.
Hugh Masterson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Brandon New's team lost to St. Patrick. The 6-foot-4 defensive lineman forced one fumble and racked up 1.5 sacks.
The Lions' Calmeyn and Kevin Hammarlund have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Calmeyn has thrown for 1512 yards this season, while Hammarlund, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 27 catches for 489 yards. Ty Isaac from Joliet Catholic Academy leads the league in rushing with 799 yards.
Benet Academy extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Hilltoppers, 31-21. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
