The Browne Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Tempe Buffaloes at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Browne's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Tempe's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Last Thursday, Browne got the win against Cesar Chavez by a conclusive 13-3. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.

Shyla Vasquez was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Browne let Ariza Martinez and Tunisia Rios run wild. Martinez went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Rios went 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Martinez a new career-high. Dania Duran also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tempe, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past Yuma 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Buffaloes have posted since March 5th.
Antonia Garcia was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Celeste Alvarez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Tempe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 14-3 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Browne's win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Tempe, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
