The Poplarville Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success  on Friday. They came out on top against Pearl River Central by a score of  49-38. That's another feather in the cap for Poplarville, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
 Poplarville's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Tameah Bester, who  scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Janiyah Jones, who  scored 12 points.
 Poplarville has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games,  which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Pearl River Central, they are  on a four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-8.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poplarville and Moss Point will face off  at 1:00  p.m.  on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Moss Point's defense has only allowed 27.6  points per game this season, so Poplarville's offense will have their work cut out for Poplarville. As for Pearl River Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Forest Hill at 3:00  p.m.  on Friday.
