The Bountiful RedHawks will head out to face off against the Bear River Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Bountiful made easy work of Woods Cross and carried off a 9-3 victory.
Dylan Carpenter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, McKinley Duryea was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Claire Yates, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bear River came tearing into Monday's matchup with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dons a 10-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their one-run performance the game before.
The result came thanks to Kate Wilson's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bear River got a massive performance out of Sam Theurer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Bella Dougals was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Bear River was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spanish Fork only posted a batting average of .100.
Bear River pushed their record up to 21-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Bountiful, their record now sits at 16-2.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bountiful hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like Bear River struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bountiful beat Bear River 8-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for the RedHawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
