Estrella Foothills is a perfect 4-0 against Cactus since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wolves will face off against the Cobras at 3:45 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Estrella Foothills put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Agua Fria a 26-0 shutout. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Owls recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Landon Sloan made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sloan was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Devin Kriley was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayson Ross, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Estrella Foothills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Cactus got the win against Westview on Thursday by a conclusive 10-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cobras.
Cactus also got a great performance from William Wagner as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Wagner has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Phoenix Huisinga was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Cactus: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-15 otherwise. Gavin Carlson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Estrella Foothills now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Cactus, their record now sits at 7-15.
Cactus' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Estrella Foothills has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. It's a different story for Cactus, though, as they've only averaged .339. Will they be able to contain Estrella Foothills' hitters?
Estrella Foothills took their victory against Cactus in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
