The Hendersonville Commandos will challenge the Harrison County Thorobreds/Fillies at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hendersonville's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Whitley County. With that victory, the Commandos brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Madelyn (Maddie) McCord was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Hendersonville let Presley Pirtle and Lacey Toth run wild. Pirtle went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Toth went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave Pirtle a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tatum Parman, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Hendersonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Harrison County strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Pendleton County 10-3.
Isabella Persinger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Persinger was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shyanne Ross, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Owyn McCoy was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Harrison County pushed their record up to 16-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Hendersonville, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hendersonville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Harrison County struggles in that department as they've averaged .412. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
