The Northridge Vikings lost against the Utica Redskins back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Northridge fell 61-49 to Utica. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northridge in their matchups with Utica: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ruby Cermak, who scored 11 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Travis, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Northridge has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Utica, they pushed their record up to 7-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northridge will take on Licking Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Utica, they will head out on the road to square off against Watkins Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Watkins Memorial has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
