Basketball Recap: Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the International High School at Largo Sea Turtles 104-16. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Owolabi, who made all 8 shots he took for 17 points and five rebounds. Those 17 points gave Owolabi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Antonio Waddy, who made all 6 shots he took to post 13 points and four steals.

Coming up, Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North will face off against Chesapeake Science Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for International High School at Largo, they have already played their next matchup, a 100-10 defeat against High Point on the 9th.
