Uintah opened the new year with a less-than-successful 39-27 loss to Bear River. Uintah has struggled against Bear River recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Uintah's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlee Gilroy, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Gilroy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Angelie Delgado was the offensive standout of the match as she went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Saydee Pebley, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Uintah has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Bear River, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
Uintah will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mountain View at 5:15 p.m. Mountain View is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Bear River, they will head out on the road to square off against Sky View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
