The Foard Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 50-41 victory over Maiden. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Foard also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Foard's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kinzer Abernathy, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jessica Bailey , who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Despite the defeat, Maiden saw an underclassman step up: Willow Bass dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Khiara Culliver, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Foard's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Maiden, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Foard will head out on the road to face off against Cherryville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maiden, they will be playing at home against Patton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
