Baseball Recap: Orangewood Christian Wins Going Away Against Trinity Christian Academy

Orangewood Christian barely beat Trinity Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Orangewood Christian Rams put the hurt on the Trinity Christian Academy Eagles with a sharp 13-3 win on Tuesday. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Tre Roach made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, Addison Lambert and Austin Wendorf did most of the damage at the plate: Lambert scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Wendorf scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Lambert a new career-high. Carson Balls also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Orangewood Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Orangewood Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Trinity Christian Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orangewood Christian will challenge Edgewater at 4:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will take on East Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
