The Carrboro Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Southern Durham at home and fell 95-56. Carrboro has struggled against the Spartans recently, as their game on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bakari Watkins, who scored 14 points. Brody Gagne was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Jackson Keith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southern Durham, almost dropping a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Keith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isiah Page, who scored 12 points along with six assists and two steals.
Carrboro dropped their record down to 8-10 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Southern Durham, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Coincidentally, Carrboro and the Spartans will both be playing the Warriors the next time they take the court. Southern Durham will head out to face J.F. Webb at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Carrboro will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
