McMichael is on a three-game streak of home losses, North Forsyth a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The McMichael Phoenix will take on the North Forsyth Vikings at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
McMichael suffered their biggest loss since November 29, 2023 on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 79-56 walloping at the hands of West Forsyth. While losing is never fun, McMichael can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 427th, while West Forsyth is ranked 55th).
The losing side was boosted by Cody Beck, who scored 12 points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Isaiah Belcher was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, North Forsyth took a serious blow against Walkertown last Wednesday, falling 84-43.
McMichael has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for North Forsyth, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
McMichael was able to grind out a solid victory over North Forsyth when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 67-59. Will McMichael repeat their success, or does North Forsyth have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
