Independence came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Clear Creek-Amana Clippers. Eight seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Independence's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Clear Creek-Amana, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6.
