Beauregard has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Jemison Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, Beauregard took a serious blow against Central of Clay County, falling 49-7. While losing is never fun, Beauregard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Central of Clay County is ranked 14th).
Meanwhile, Jemison's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 42-18 loss at the hands of Selma.
Despite the loss, Jemison had strong showings from Chaz Melton, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown, and Kintre Jackson, who picked up 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Beauregard has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Jemison, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Beauregard against Jemison in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 54-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Beauregard since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
