Monte Vista is 8-2 against Livermore since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Mustangs will host the Cowboys at 4:00 p.m. The last three games Monte Vista has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Monte Vista and California had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Mustangs might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Grizzlies, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Mustangs have struggled against the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Monte Vista got a good showing from Ethan Smith, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Furthermore, Smith didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March.

At the plate, Zane Worth made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.

Meanwhile, Livermore came up short against Amador Valley on Friday, falling 11-4.

Hayden Maas was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Nico Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Livermore has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Monte Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

Monte Vista was able to grind out a solid win over Livermore in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 11-7. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cowboys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
