The Fishers Tigers will face off against the Pendleton Heights Arabians at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Fishers is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Fishers made easy work of Anderson and carried off an 11-4 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Fishers got a massive performance out of Azstryd Alexander, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Alexander has posted since back in April. Kendall Jordan was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Fishers lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 7-1 when they post two or more home runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pendleton Heights, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over New Castle on Tuesday.
Morgan Bricker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Pendleton Heights' win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Avry Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Pendleton Heights' victory bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Fishers, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.
Pendleton Heights' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fishers has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Pendleton Heights, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Fishers' sizable advantage in that area, the Arabians will need to find a way to close that gap.
Fishers skirted past Pendleton Heights 5-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Arabians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
