Bixby had won ten straight games dating back to last season and Jayson Moll did his part to make it 11 on Thursday. The Spartans enjoyed a cozy 38-22 victory over the Mustang Broncos for which the team can thank Moll, who rushed for 311 yards and one touchdown while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards.
One reason for the win was Bixby's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Leading the way was Dawson Madden with three.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Bixby, racking up 12 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Bradley Thao: he added nine points with three field goals and another three kicking extra points.
Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaden O'Neal, who threw for 310 yards and a pair of TDs. O'Neal's passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 310 passing yards. Mustang's leading receiver Ryder Murphy was O'Neal's top target yet again, picking up 125 receiving yards and one score.
Bixby's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Mustang, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3.
