Colusa and Woodland Christian are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The RedHawks will host the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Colusa 2.7, Woodland Christian 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Tuesday, Colusa got the win against Pierce by a conclusive 16-4. The result was nothing new for the RedHawks, who have now won 17 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Ava Garcia was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elli Santana, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Braelyn Santana was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Colusa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pierce only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Woodland Christian duked it out with Ben Holt College Prep Academy on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 8-7.
Colusa has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That lines up perfectly with their 18-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Woodland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-4.
Everything went Colusa's way against Woodland Christian in their previous matchup back in March, as Colusa made off with an 11-1 win. Will the RedHawks repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
