The Box Elder Bees and the West Field Longhorns, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Box Elder has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Box Elder managed to slip by Fremont the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bees came up short against the Wolves last Friday, falling 12-4. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Box Elder saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Stewart, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those hits were Stewart's first of the season. Another was Maddox Earnest, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Field). They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over Roy last Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Longhorns, who have now won four contests in a row.
West Field got a massive performance out of Kason Taylor, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, Taylor posted three hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. Sam Smith was another key player, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 2-for-3.
West Field was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.
West Field's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Box Elder, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
