Football Recap: Osceola's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Osceola can now relate to. They lost to the West Boca Raton Bulls on the road by a 26-7 margin on Friday. The Kowboys' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Taevion Swint and Camren West certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Swint rushed for 116 yards and one touchdown, while West rushed for 77 yards on only nine carries. Swint's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 116 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Osceola was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 208 rushing yards in 13 consecutive matchups.

West Boca Raton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mark Hanniford led the charge by picking up 140 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Hanniford really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 93 yards. Another player making a difference was Mason Mallory, who threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes.

Osceola's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for West Boca Raton, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

As of now, neither Osceola nor West Boca Raton have any future games scheduled.
